At times we may idolize a person because of their status, wealth, of fashion. We think if only we had this person’s life, we would be so much happier. However, this is not true. We don’t know what they did to obtain this lifestyle or what they’re doing to keep it.

Collate and contrast:

Comparing will always yeild unsatisfactory results. We idolize what is shown to us, which is often not the full picture. Instead, use this as a motivation. If they Can do it, so can I. Connect and surround yourself with people in this lifestyle.

Be seen:

You play a huge role in living the life you desire. It may be as simple as being an introvert. In a perfect world, we could stay in the comfort of our home and have an overflow of opportunities. Well, that’s not reality. Take initiative and create those opportunities, network with people who have that shared interest, and take advantage of free advertising on social media.

Accept but dont become stagnant:

Accept where you are right at this very moment. Never get comfortable. When we reoeat behaviors for a long time, while not impossible, it gets that much harder to break the cycle. small steps each day towards your goal will continuously push you to grow.

Shift your focus:

Count your blessings. Stop focusing on what’s going wrong and avoid watching things with a focus on negativity. Once we shift our focus to positive, our mind follows suit. We become aware of good things happening.

Gratitude:

When those feelings of envy try to slip through the cracks, open your gratitude journal and write 5 great things that happened that day.

In conclusion:

It’s so easy to get caught up wanting what we don’t have. We are only human. But it’s also very important to acknowledge and work through these feelings. Everyone is blessed with the same 24 hours. What sets us apart is how we use them. Let this be a reminder to go that much harder for the life you want to live.
