Acknowledge. Accept the baggage you are carrying. Is this truly your baggage, or are you carrying someone else’s?

Emotions. Allow yourself to feel during this process. Connect with yourself at that moment. Was your voice hushed, or were you allowed to react?

Support. You don’t always have to be the strong one. If additional help is needed, never be ashamed to reach out to a friend, family member, or even a therapist.

Release. Let it go from your mind and heart. Forgive if necessary, but you no longer claim that baggage.

Victim. Don’t use your baggage as an excuse to play victim all the time. Anything that happens to you only makes you that much stronger and wiser.

Focus on the now. Once you have worked through and resolved all your baggage, don’t circle back. Instead, continue to look forward.
