Build A Healthy Hair Routine

✅️ Never do your hair when you’re rushing. This can lead to ripping out your strands. Instead, make a set date and time when you’re not busy.

✅️ Protective styles are great for length retention and minimize manipulation. Ensure you choose hairstyles suitable for your strands.

✅️ Don’t leave protective styles in longer than 4-8 weeks. This could end up having a reverse effect, leading to build-up and breakage.

✅️ Opt for styles that will apply the least amount of tension.

✅️ Keep in mind the products you use. Heavy oils, butters,creams, and gels may require you to wash your hair more frequently. However, a great place to start is weekly washing.

✅️ Always detangle using a conditioner with lots of slip. Coat your strands well, and finger detangle or use a wide-tooth comb.

✅️ When washing hair it’s recommended to wash twice. Ensure you are cleansing the scalp properly. And follow up with a deep conditioner.

✅️ Washing hair in sections can greatly reduce tangles.

✅️ Keep hair in a stretched state by blow drying or opting for Heatless methods such as banding, twist, braids, etc.

✅️ Trim hair every 3 months. Depending on your hair health it could be sooner.

✅️ Use a satin pillow case or bonnet to protect strands while sleeping.
